நைமிசாரண்யம்

 நைமிசாரண்யம்:

Naimisaranya is also known as Nimsar or Nimkhar and is located on the left bank of the river Gomati. The word Naimish means 'the spot which is especially a favorite of Vishnu’ Aranya means 'Dense Forest'.

Vishnu is considered to be an Aranya Swaroopi, or in other words, the forest of Naimisaranyam, hallowed earlier on by the discourses on the great epics of India, by Vyasa Muni and Suka Muni - is considered as a manifestation of Vishnu and held in reverence and worship. The forest is considered to have been the abode of 60000 sages.

Gomati River:

This river is called as Aadhi Ganga. This was the first river created by Lord Brahma in this earth.

It is one of the very famous south Indian temples. This temple is located in the entrance of Naimisharnayam. This temple is constructed and maintained by Andhra Ashramam trust. The lord Balaji temple and idol constructed by south Indian architect.

Chakra Theertham:

Chakra theertham is located at the centre part of the Naimi. It is a Very famous and glorious part of Naimisharanyam.

During the Satya Yuga, All the Rishi’s wanted to perform uninterrupted yagyas for the benefit of mankind and asked Lord Brahma for a suitable place. Lord Brahma created a huge wheel (called Manomaya chakra) released it and instructed the sages to follow it. He also told them that the place where it broke down would be very auspicious for doing penance. The sages followed the Manomaya chakra, which after traveling all the 14 Logas for a long time and fetches a huge amount of holiest water from all the 14 logas and fell down on a large segment of land and its circumference (Nemi) broke down as predicted by lord Brahma. This segment of land became famous as Naimisharanya.

Devotees taking bath in this Kund are believed to have their soul cleansed and those who perform charity gain wealth benefits. The body is purified through meditation and people who donate "Pinda" are believed to attain the state of Moksha.

Lalitha Matha Manthir:

Lalitha matha manthir is one of the famous manthir in naimisharanyam.

As soon as Chakra theertha created, from that spot a huge gush of water sprouted up in the form of a Shiva-linga. As the water was flooding the place, the Rishis prayed and Mother Shakti appeared and absorbed and stopped the flow of water. Hence Naimisharanya is also a Shakti Peetha and has a famous ancient Lalita (Devi) temple. She is also called Linga-Dharini Shakti.

Here lalitha matha idol is suyambu.

Vyasa gatti:

Vyasa gatti is 2 km away from the chakra theertham where Maharishi Vedvyas bifurcated Vedas into 6 Shastras, 18 Puranas, and composed Geeta, Shri Madh-Bhagvata, Mahabharata, Shri Satyanarayan Katha. Through all these Granthas and scriptures, he taught the entire world the path of Dharma. It is the same place where Maharishi Vedvyas gave the sermons of Shri Madh-Bhagvata to his own son Shri Shukar. In the ancient times, Maharishi Vaishampayan and Maharishi Vyas ascertained eternal radiance in the Banyan Tree for which divine blessings circle around this tree every time. Any devotee can get rid of incurable diseases by performing yoga under this tree.

Hanuman Garhi:

During Tretayug Ahi & Mahi Ravana took Ram and Lakshman to another world (Paataal), then, Shri Hanuman slaughtered Ahi & Mahi Ravana. While bringing Shri Ram Lakshman on his shoulders, Makardhvaj changed their path, due to which Shri Hanuman appeared apparently in Naimisharanya. This place is considered to be the most beautiful places in Naimisharanya. Here the Path of Sunderkand holds uncanny grandeur. The sacred grove of Panch Pandavas is also situated here.

Rudhra vath is located 10 km from the Dadheechi Kund . A small siva temple is located in the river bank of Gomathi. Here the lord Shiva idol is suyambu. If you put the villapathram in the Gomati water you can see that the vilva pathram get dipped into the river instead of floating.
